Cookie Policy
Last updated: 26 June 2026 . § 25 TDDDG . GDPR (EU) 2016/679
This policy explains how DangerousStreet uses cookies and similar technologies on our online store, what each category is for, and how you stay in control. Nothing beyond what is strictly necessary is set without your consent, and you can review or change your choice whenever you like.
You can review, update or withdraw your consent at any time. There is no need to contact us first: the control below puts every category in your hands.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. Alongside them we may use related technologies such as browser local storage, which works in a similar way. Together they let the store remember information between page views and visits, for example what is in your cart or which choices you have made.
It helps to know a few distinctions:
- First-party cookies are set by DangerousStreet itself. Third-party cookies are set by external providers we use, such as a payment or analytics service, when their code runs on our pages.
- Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a defined period, or until you delete them, so the store can recognise your preferences on a later visit.
How we ask for consent
When you first visit DangerousStreet, a consent banner appears. Until you make a choice, nothing non-essential is set: no analytics, marketing or functional cookies run in the background while the banner is open. You can Accept All, Reject everything that is not strictly necessary, or open the settings and save a custom selection by category.
Your decision is stored on your device so we do not ask again on every visit, and you can change it at any time using the Manage Cookie Preferences button on this page.
Legal basis
Strictly necessary cookies are stored on the basis of § 25 (2) TDDDG, because they are required for the store you have requested to function. All other cookies and similar technologies are stored only with your consent under § 25 (1) TDDDG, and any associated processing of your personal data is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future.
Categories we use
Our consent tool groups cookies into four categories. The names below match the toggles you see in the cookie control. The examples are representative; exact names and lifetimes can vary as providers update their technologies.
Essential (always on)
These cookies are required for the store to work: keeping your session and cart intact, remembering your cookie choice, and supporting security and load balancing. They do not track you for marketing and cannot be switched off.
| Cookie / Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|
ds_session: keeps your session and cart contents | First-party | Session |
ds_cookie_consent_v1: records your consent choice | Local storage | 12 months |
| Security and load balancing: protects checkout and distributes traffic | First-party | Session |
Analytics
These help us understand how the store is used so we can improve it. The statistics are aggregated and anonymised, and these cookies are only set after you give consent.
| Cookie / Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Privacy-friendly analytics: aggregated, anonymised usage statistics | First-party / third-party | Up to 13 months |
Marketing
These let us measure campaign performance and show relevant DangerousStreet content on other platforms. They are only set after you give consent.
| Cookie / Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Campaign pixel / cookie: measures campaigns and supports relevant content off-site | Third-party | Up to 6 months |
Functional / preference
These remember choices that make the store more convenient, such as your language, recently viewed pieces and saved sizes. Most of them are only set after you give consent.
Language preference is the exception. The two entries marked below are stored without asking for consent, because they are strictly necessary to deliver the language you explicitly requested (§ 25 (2) TDDDG). They contain nothing but a two‑letter language code or a timestamp, hold no personal data, and are never used for analytics or marketing. They do not depend on marketing consent in any way, and you can remove them at any time via your browser settings.
| Cookie / Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|
ds_locale: stores the language you explicitly selected, so the store opens in that language on your next visit. Value is a language code only (en, de, nl or pt). Set without consent — strictly necessary preference. |
First-party cookie (also mirrored in local storage) | Approximately 180 days |
ds_locale_suggestion_dismissed: remembers that you dismissed or declined a language suggestion, so we do not ask you again. Value is a timestamp only. Set without consent — strictly necessary preference. |
Local storage | Approximately 180 days |
| Preference cookie: remembers recently viewed pieces and saved sizes | First-party | Up to 12 months |
Managing and withdrawing consent
You stay in control of every non-essential category. To change your choice, use the Manage Cookie Preferences button on this page, adjust the toggles and save. Your new selection takes effect straight away. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings, though blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the store from working.
You can also manage cookies in your browser settings: most browsers let you delete existing cookies and block new ones, either entirely or per site. Please note that blocking essential cookies may break parts of the store, such as the cart and checkout.
Withdrawing consent stops the relevant cookies from being set going forward. It does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out on the basis of your consent before you withdrew it.
Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by providers we rely on to run the store, including payment services, analytics and embedded media (for example video). These fall under the categories described above:
- Essential: payment and fraud-prevention providers used to complete your order securely.
- Analytics: services that help us measure aggregated, anonymised usage.
- Marketing: platforms used to measure campaigns and deliver relevant content.
- Functional: embedded media that remembers playback or display preferences.
For the specific recipients, the purposes of their processing and any transfers outside the EU/EEA, please see our Privacy Policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy and the cookie list as the store, our providers or the law change. The current version is always the one published here, and the date shown at the top of this page indicates when it last changed.
